Children grow quickly and need a bigger bike every two years. Together with SSI Rental Company, we have therefore developed a service that offers parents a cheaper and more sustainable alternative to buying a bike: Children's bikes as a rental subscription.

Based on the product “children's bike”, we designed a comprehensive rental subscription as a product-as-a-service. Interviews and workshops with parents and experts from the bicycle industry resulted in three central design principles for the offering: flexibility, convenience and safety. Based on these, we designed the service experience for parents and children along physical and digital touchpoints.

The 50 consultations in the first few months show that the rental service has struck a chord. Parents welcome the new service: «Finally a sustainable service that combines quality and convenience.»
